Chemical protection safety shoes are not actually designed for extreme environments such as "long-term immersion in strong acids and strong alkalis", but rather cover about 70% of the daily working environments in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and precision manufacturing industries.

I. Shoe Upper Material Requirements:
This is the most crucial part of the Chemical Resistant Safety Shoes.
Option One: Microfiber Leather (Ultra-Fine Leather) : at present, safety shoes are very common in Europe and America. Recommendation: 1. 6 - 2.0mm Microfiber, problems that can be solved:
① Resists chemical liquid penetration. Prevent acidic or alkaline liquids, alcohol, cleaning agents, etc. from quickly entering the shoes.
② Resistance to hydrolysis. The main drawback of ordinary PU leather when exposed to moisture and chemical cleaning agents is that it tends to peel and crack. However, Microfiber has better durability.
③ Easy to clean. In pharmaceutical and chemical environments, the shoe surfaces need to be wiped every day,the microfiber leather does not absorb contaminants like genuine leather does.
Option two : PU Coated Leather (PU Coated Leather) is suitable for ordinary chemical factories. the advantages are low cost, water resistance and easy production. the drawback is that its performance is weak when exposed to strong solvents for a long time.
Option 3: Fabric Mesh (Not Recommended as Mainstream)
Many sports safety shoes use a combination of Mesh + TPU for the upper. the advantage is breathability. However, in a chemical environment, the disadvantages are obvious - liquids can easily enter and the chemical resistance is weak. Therefore, for the chemical series, it is not recommended to use a large amount of mesh fabric.
II. Shoe Toe Cap Material :
Recommended Steel Toe or Composite Toe , safety requirements: EN ISO 20345 Impact: 200J, Compression: 15kN.
III. Midsole Material ;
Recommended Kevlar Anti-puncture Midsole , Standard: EN ISO 20345: P / PL / PS
Traditional steel plates are heavy and have poor flexibility in cold weather. however, Kevlar is lightweight, puncture-resistant and soft.
IV. Shoe Outsole Material ;
Recommended combinations : PU + Rubber or EVA + Rubber ,shoe sole requirements:
① Oil Resistant (FO) : When ordinary PU absorbs oil, it expands, becomes soft and cracks. For industrial applications, PU Rubber is recommended to prevent engine oil, hydraulic oil and lubricating oil from penetrating.
② Chemical Resistant : Resistant to weak acids and alkalis as well as cleaning agents, avoid the problem of shoe soles hardening, cracking or detaching over a long period of time.
③ Slip Resistant : Standard SR or the old standard SRC ,avoid slippery conditions caused by wastewater, oil, and chemical liquids from the chemical plant.
V. Inner Material (Lining) :
Many manufacturers overlook this , the suggestion for the inner lining of chemical protective shoes is: Mesh Polyester Lining or Moisture Wicking Fabric, which can better achieve the functions of sweat removal, odor prevention and comfort.
