Welding Safety Boots Application Scenarios :

1. Structural Steel Welding involves industries such as steel structure factories, construction steel frame manufacturing, bridge manufacturing, and industrial equipment manufacturing. the main tasks include electric welding, gas cutting, and CO₂ shielded welding. the main risks include welding sparks, red-hot metal debris, molten slag, steel drop, and metal edge scratches.

2. Shipyard Welding - this is a typical market in Europe and America. in the environment of ship body welding, cabin welding, and pipeline welding, there are risks such as long-term welding, sparks falling, damp ground, and sharp edges of steel plates. Therefore, S3 + Welding Protection is required.

3. Pipeline Welding , such as for oil pipelines, natural gas pipelines, and chemical pipelines. these types of pipelines are exposed to sparks from the wild environment, high temperatures, and risks of water and mud. Therefore, they require greater attention to waterproofing, anti-slip properties, and puncture resistance compared to ordinary welding.

4. Metal Fabrication (Mechanical Processing/Metal Manufacturing), such as sheet metal processing, mechanical equipment manufacturing, and industrial maintenance. the risks mainly include welding slag, metal fragments, and cutting sparks, and advanced welding certifications are not necessarily required.

I. Shoe Upper Material Requirements: 

We recommend Full Grain Leather , because the welding environment has extremely high temperatures of sparks, ordinary materials such as Mesh fabric, Canvas, and ordinary PU are prone to burning holes, carbonization, and melting.

The greatest danger of welding is not getting burned on the outside of the shoes, but having the hot metal particles fall into the shoes. to prevent welding debris from entering the shoes, it is best to have a high-top shoe shaft and a closed tongue design, reducing the exposed gaps.

The heel height is Mid Cut / High Cut, with a minimum length of Ankle Height. this design can protect the ankle and prevent welding debris from entering.

We recommend the zipper-style / adhesive-tape / snap-on lacing design, as welding slag on ordinary nylon laces is prone to causing them to break and catch fire.

II. Shoe Toe Cap Material : 

Steel Toe Cap , there is a risk of steel and tools falling at the welding site. it meets the requirements of EN ISO 20345 basic safety shoes.

III. Midsole Material : 

Choose based on the scene:

The steel structure factory recommended Kevlar Anti-Puncture Midsole. there were steel chips, iron pieces and nails on the site.

In ordinary workshop welding, it is not necessary to use puncture-resistant soles because the welding risk is not equivalent to the puncture resistance risk.

IV. Shoe Outsole Material :

A HRO (Heat Resistant Outsole) is required to prevent contact with hot metal floors and high-temperature debris ; at the same time, SRC/SR (Slip Resistance) is needed to withstand common welding environment contaminants such as oil, water, and metal dust. it must also have fire resistance properties.

The key point is not to make the shoes "immune to 1000℃", but to prevent sparks from igniting and welding slag from causing continuous combustion.

Recommended certification combination: Basic EN ISO 20345, S3 with additional welding EN ISO 20349-2 marking WG (Welding protection against molten metal splash), along with HRO, SRC, and P.
